Actuarial Intern

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Actuarial Intern to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting various Actuarial projects, including annual actuarial initiatives, model/process optimization, and model governance. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with high net worth products in the Singapore life insurance market while contributing to innovative projects involving newly developed actuarial models and GenAI applications. Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the company's annual business planning process by conducting in-depth analysis of capital management strategies and their implications
• Develop and maintain actuarial models for product cash flow projections, with exposure to various actuarial standards such as IFRS17 and Singapore RBC2.
• Contribute to ongoing projects, including model governance enhancement, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. Explore applications of newly developed actuarial models and emerging technologies like Generative AI where relevant.
• Collaborate with team members to develop, enhance, and automate processes, ensuring efficient workflows and a robust control environment.
• Demonstrate flexibility by taking on additional responsibilities as required by the team to support overall objectives and changing business needs.

Job Requirements

• Full time students working towards a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and complete assigned projects.
• Strong technical skills and problem-solving ability
• Excellent collaboration skills across different teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA programming is required. Additional experience with any programming language for modeling purposes is not required but highly valued.
• Actuarial exam progression with a recognized international actuarial body is required.
• Experience with prior internships in the Life Insurance industry is preferred
• Proficiency in Moody’s AXIS or other actuarial modeling software is highly desirable.
