The full-time faculty position for the CNE nursing program is a 12-month position. The faculty member is responsible for providing high-quality education and training to nursing students. This role includes designing and delivering course content including didactic (in-person and/or virtual), laboratory (in-person and/or virtual), and clinical responsibilities (in-person). The faculty will facilitate the learning experience for the students by engaging students in rich discussions; providing timely, relevant, clear feedback; analyzing and evaluating student performance; as well as encouraging, mentoring, and coaching students throughout the program.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) AND enrolled in a graduate degree program with a major in nursing (within 12 months of hire)
OR
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and ten (10) years clinical experience
3. Active, unencumbered license as registered nurse in WV
4. BLS certification from American Heart Association (prior to students on campus)
EXPERIENCE:
1. Previous experience teaching in a registered nurse program
2. Five (5) years of clinical nursing experience in teaching.

1. Master of Science in Nursing

1. Acts as a professional role model to all nursing students by following and reinforcing documented policy and reflecting the mission and vision of the school of nursing.
2. Assumes responsibility to stay abreast of current nursing practice to enhance knowledge and clinical expertise in areas/topics of assigned teaching responsibility.
3. Presents curriculum defined theory supported by research and evidence-based practice. Presents theory in an organized, understandable manner including application activities and interactive learning strategies using assorted, appropriate teaching modalities.

5. Guides students to develop critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills in the clinical/simulation setting.
6. Promotes and guides students to develop and utilize the nursing process and clinical judgement through clear examples and feedback.
7. Provides clinical/simulation learning activities utilizing a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to the environment, the learner, and course outcomes (sim/skills teaching).
8. Supports the program / ACEN criterion 5.1 to promote attainment of End of Program Student Learning Outcomes by appropriately formulating item questions for evaluation with correct categorization and matching student learning outcomes.
9. Fairly and consistently records and communicates, as necessary, student clinical performance and evaluation with clear and constructive comments.
10. Assists advisees and offers time and direction for those advisees requiring assistance in the attainment of learning outcomes to support ACEN criterion 5.2.
11. Supports the program / ACEN criterion 5.3 to maintain a yearly NCLEX pass rate greater than 80%.
12. Works effectively, respectfully, and appropriately as a member of the team, respecting peers and leadership.
13. Fosters a positive and inclusive learning environment.
14. Engages in activities that contribute to the academic community and nursing profession.
15. Performs all other duties as assigned, contributing positively and fairly to all processes.
16. Participates in departmental meetings, training sessions, and committee work.
17. Contributes to accreditation preparation.
