Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled and active in an accredited nursing program
- Successful completion of the 1st and 2nd semesters of a nursing program
- Documentation from the accredited nursing program verifying the above
- Current BLS Certification

- Plans to potentially seek employment at SJRMC as an RN upon successful completion of nursing program
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides individualized assistance with the activities of daily living appropriate for the area of practice
- Performs vital signs and reports abnormal findings as indicated
- Communicates pertinent patient information to the appropriate members of the healthcare team
- Understands and follows policy, procedure and regulatory requirements as outlined by SJRMC
- Builds productive interpersonal relationships in every encounter
- Demonstrates teamwork
- A Nurse Tech may perform additional tasks (excluding medication administration) under the direct supervision of a licensed RN
- Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:
- Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistance
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequently
- Must be able to lift greater than 50 pounds and push 0-300 pounds using approved hospital transport devices
- Potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids and meets OSHA training requirements
Special Demands:
- Sets limits when dealing with angry, hostile, or sometimes verbally or physically abusive patients and families in an attempt to ensure a safe, respectful environment that will support the delivery of care
- Effectively copes and strives for balance when caring for acutely ill patients and families
