Job Description:
As a Nurse at Lurie Children's, you will be at the heart of our pediatric care team, making a difference each day by supporting other nursing staff in compassionate and top-quality patient care.

Child Psychiatry Unit Information:
This family-oriented, short-term unit treats patients from preschool through 16 for a variety of emotional, behavioral and developmental disorders, including, but not limited to, childhood depression, suicidal ideation, psychoses, eating disorders, learning disabilities, dual medical/psychiatric diagnoses, and family relationship problems.
Position we are hiring for:
• Evening-shift, Night-shift and every third weekend
• Staff must remain in current position for at least six months before qualifying for position changes
• Position openings for different start times will be released by the Scheduling Committee based off of unit needs; positions are filled by seniority
Minimum Qualifications:
BSN, RN or higher. ASN permitted if willing to return to school for BSN within 2 years of hire.
Current licensure as an RN in the State of Illinois, active and in good standing.
Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
One year experience as a clinical RN required.
Experience working in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
Experience in pediatrics strongly preferred.
Experience with behavioral/ psychiatric patients strongly preferred.
Education:
Bachelor Degree: Nursing (Preferred)
Associate degree: Nursing (Required)
Orientation:
4 to 8 weeks
Orientation classes: Crisis prevention intervention training
Unit resources: Senior staff, Manuals
