The Opportunity
This position will be based in JHB in the Abbott Core Diagnostics Division. In this division we’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.
Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
The role of service engineer intern will provide technical in-depth troubleshooting, expertise & service support to Technical Support Specialists, FSEs & Service Support
What You’ll Do
Perform system installation, repairs and servicing at customer sites.
Implements major product upgrades relative to the assigned system/product group.
Collaborates with Sales department to assist with basic troubleshooting training of Customers.
Provide service support and technical troubleshooting for defined service interventions.
Provide proactive service.
Required Qualifications
University degree (National Diploma), ideally in one of the following fields: Electrical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Mechatronics, Medical Technology, biomedical or related. (THIS MUST BE COMPLETED).
VALID DRIVERS LICENCE and Own CAR is Essential
Preferred Qualifications
No Work experience (however previous in-service training will be accepted)
Must be based in Gauteng and can travel to surrounding areas.
