The Big Rapids ED is a certified Primary Stroke Center and Level IV Trauma Center. There are twenty places to treat patients with minor to major medical and traumatic emergencies. Interdisciplinary team members collaborate closely to provide relationship-based care for our patients and their loved ones. Big Rapids ED has over 27,000 visits/year and ranks highly in patient experience and throughput measures. We value teamwork, culture, and process improvement from each member of our team!
This Inpatient Supervisor position will lead a team of approximately thirty-five over both locations. The work hours are usually over four nights. Most weeks there are two 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. nights and two 8 hour shifts, variable hours.
Scope of work
Assumes shift accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing service/ unit of the hospital. Some service lines may require the ability to be available for on-call to better support the nursing service/unit. Additionally, Inpatient Supervisors may be required to fill-in for the hospital supervisor as needed. Key responsibilities include assisting with the following: clinical support, unit based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, performance improvement, performance correction, and coaching and mentoring.
Corewell Health Nurse Supervisors are REQUIRED to obtain their Nursing Administration or Professional/Specialty Certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire in to the role.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
- Master's degree in nursing (MSN) Preferred.
- Skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through 1+ year of related clinical nursing experience (critical care, emergency, ICU) Required.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within six months Required.
- ENA Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within one year Required.
