Role and Responsibilities
You will be a part of the Samsung eCommerce platform engineering team, where you will work with a dedicated mentor and other experienced engineers to improve observability and reduce Time-to-detect for front-end and backend system issues and ensuring seamless user interactions by using modern monitoring tools and best practices.
Role & Responsibilities:
Optimize instrumentation for capturing user interactions, API responses, slow page loads and component rendering problems that will affect customer experience.
Assist in reducing Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR) KPIs by automating issue detection and alerts using tools like New Relic, Akamai mPulse, Opentelemetry, Grafana, Opensearch tools.
Collaborate with Frontend engineers, Architects and Product managers to define and implement best practices for frontend observability.
Develop systems / components to improve operation simplicity and system reliability. For example, deployment automation and diagnosis tools
Troubleshoot and fix reliability bugs in our offboard software and/or report them to our software engineering teams
Guide systems architecture by participating in design reviews and offering suggestions for reliability and optimization of production systems

Skills and Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
CS fundamentals, OS, Networking, Data structures and algorithms, Linux Internals, filesystems
Strong knowledge of JavaScript, including async/await and event handling.
Microservices, Message-Queues, Databases, and building and deploying services in Cloud-Systems (AWS), version control (preferably Git)
Enrollment in or completion of a degree program related to Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering etc
Previous related experience in software engineering (applicable coursework, projects, internships, etc.)
Strong understanding of Javascript, NextJS, React or other frontend frameworks.
Familiarity with browser developer tools, performance debugging, error instrumentation and reporting.
Strong interest in UNIX/Linux systems and/or DevOps
Strong troubleshooting and analysis skills and problem-solving ability
Strong technical background with analytical and excellent problem-solving skills
