Job Description
Building Name: UVMMC - Medical Center - Main CampusProvides comprehensive mental health support and care to perinatal and postpartum patients in various states of health or illness in collaboration with a larger team including the providers and our community health team in support of the mental health of our clients.
This position has a focus in the following areas:
Preconception consultation on psychotropic medication management for those contemplating pregnancy.
Psychiatric assessment with pregnant and postpartum/lactating people.
Ongoing Medication management along with brief supportive therapy in pregnancy, through birth, the first year postpartum or in lactation.
Supporting pregnant persons with past mental health history (on medications or not) to establish care with me in case of need for my resources postpartum.
This position works with clients from within our UVMMC/UVMHN practices, as well as external practices per referral. Applicants may also work at one of our Network OBGYN locations. This position works a hybrid model.
EDUCATION:
This position requires applicants to have or be eligible for their PMHNP- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Registered nurse who has successfully completed formal education program approved by the Vermont Board of Nursing, or state or national accrediting agency which prepares nurses to function in advanced nursing practice. Must also be certified by national certifying agency recognized by the Vermont State Board of Nursing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience as a nurse practitioner desired. Applicants should have interest, experience, and/or additional training with the perinatal population as well as understanding prescribing psychotropic medications in pregnancy.
NYS Certified Nurse Practitioner licensure required or must be willing to obtain upon hire.
This is a bargaining union position.
