General Description:
Under administrative direction, coordinates the various transplant activities to ensure quality patient care is delivered.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Maintains a current database of all resources, agencies, hospitals, etc. that provide transplant services.
- Educates the physicians, staff, patients, and families about the procedures, expectations and anticipated results involved in a transplant procedure.
- Coordinates the admission and discharge of patients; provides follow-up contact through the clinic. JOB IS FROM: nursingjobs.siteVIEW
- Assesses the patient’s readiness to undergo a transplant; assists with nursing care as needed.
- Participates in research projects; implements research-based changes through the education of staff and physicians.
- Develops quality assurance indicators. Serves as a preceptor to students and new unit employees.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting or in a transplant program.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, procedures and standards. Skill in planning and organizing nursing care, applying advanced nursing clinical skills, maintaining records and charts, preparing written reports and maintaining effective working relationships with other. Knowledge of resources available in the community for transplant patients to access for follow-up care. Good computer skills. Good patient assessment skills.
