Job Summary

The Charge Nurse provides first line supervisory oversight for a specific unit during a designated shift. Ensures that quality care is provided according to policies and procedures, that patient flow/placement is efficient and that daily staffing needs are met to assure the highest quality patient care, safety and satisfaction.

Pay Range

Minimum $57.20 Midpoint $75.80 Maximum $94.40

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

* Required: Minimum two (2) years of experience in clinical specialty.

* Preferred: Four (4) years of experience in clinical specialty.

Education

* Required: Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing; Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) (effective on all external offers made after November 1, 2015).

Licensure

* Required: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS); Registered Nurse - CA (RN); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

* Preferred: National Nursing Certification

Work Environments - Functional Demand:

Medium - High energy level Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient) .
