Job Summary:

Location: Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital
Address: 933 E Pierce St, Council Bluffs, IA

Work Schedule: Variable Hours, Monday - Friday, 40hrs/Wk. House Supervisor shifts required.

Provide leadership in order to integrate new knowledge and innovation to positively impact patient outcomes, and the nurse practice environment. Collaborate with system leadership to determine opportunity areas, and provide guidance using current evidence to achieve nursing, and organizational strategic goals. The Nurse Practice Coordinator's specialized knowledge, and skills are used within the three spheres of influence: patient/family care; nurses and nursing practice, and organization/systems. Responsibilities:

Education

  • Doctoral Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Bachelor's of Science (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Successful completion of annual mandatory education requirements.


Experience

  • 3-5 years clinical practice experience required.
  • 1-3 years clinical leadership experience required (e.g. CNS, NP).


License/Certifications

  • Current valid RN License, valid compact multi-state license to work, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure required.


Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Knowledge of healthcare databases related to performance improvement/quality activities.
  • Knowledge of healthcare research related to evidence based practices in patient care, nursing practice, and performance improvement/quality.
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers, patient care/EHR applications, and standard office equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate, and interact with patients, family members, hospital personnel, and co-workers.
  • Ability to multi-task, and prioritize work assignments.
  • Ability to learn, retain, and utilize computer skills that are required for department, and hospital or clinic information system.
