Base salary will range from $137,542 - $158,351 (Academic Level C) + 17% Superannuation + an additional 10% regional location Market Loading + up to $5,000 Relocation support

About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior clinical academic to join Southern Queensland Rural Health (SQRH) as Deputy Director of our South West region. SQRH is a Commonwealth-funded University Department of Rural Health which aims to make a real and positive difference to regional healthcare in Queensland, and the education of our students and future healthcare professionals.
Based in Charleville, the Deputy Director (South West) will provide advanced level operational and professional leadership, advice and collaboration on strategic priorities, in conjunction with the SQRH Director and senior staff, to ensure the delivery of coordinated, efficient and high quality interprofessional clinical education and training to students and staff in the allied health, nursing and midwifery professions across rural and remote Southern Queensland.
Key responsibilities will include:
Clinical Expertise and Practice: apply advanced clinical expertise; solve complex clinical and service delivery issues; disseminate shared learnings; engage with SQRH partners, local healthcare professionals and key stakeholders and support interprofessional opportunities for student placements.
Operational Management: manage the Charleville Clinical Training Facility and the St George Allied Health Education and Training Centre and the small team of staff at these locations; oversee coordination of student placements; allocate resources and manage outreach activities.
Service Planning and Quality: review service quality, processes and clinical education practices; develop innovative models of clinical education; participate in accreditation processes and lead service improvement activities.
Research, Education, Training and Evidence-Based Practice: provide leadership and training; engage in research and apply evidence-based approaches to clinical education.
About You
We are seeking a clinical academic with tertiary qualifications in Health and advanced clinical expertise in at least one area of healthcare, as well as knowledge of a diverse range of allied health, nursing and midwifery services. You will have expertise in both clinical education and operational management.
