Facilities Services' responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.
Job Summary
This position supervises the electrical department for the maintenance and repair of electrical systems for Health Science, Summerville, and Forrest Hills Campuses. This position is Monday through Friday 8am until 4:30pm, some after hours and weekend work maybe required for this position.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preventative Maintenance
Ensure employees leave equipment in safe working condition, and take immediate action if employees notify electrical supervisor of dangerous situations. Document and facilities manager of any equipment failure and/or potential failures. Document all corrective actions in detail on assigned work requests. Schedule all quarterly, mid-annual, and annual preventative maintenances are being completed on Augusta University equipment based on manufactures required preventative maintenance requirements. Schedule all preventative maintenances so that it does not disrupt the operation of Augusta University buildings or its customers. Schedule delivery of needed materials to complete preventative maintenance according to when the Augusta University equipment is scheduled to be completed. Keep records of completed preventative maintenance as well as any future work that needs to be completed. Communicate with building coordinators and facilities manager of any shutdowns that need to occur to complete preventative maintenance of Augusta University plant operations equipment. Communicate with building coordinators and facilities manager once preventative maintenance is complete and equipment has been returned to normal operation.
Responds to Work Requests
Assign and ensure electrical department responds to work orders in a quick and timely manner. Communicate with customer explaining if work order is completed or if further work needs to be completed. Provide supervision to ensure troubleshooting and repairing of equipment is completed in a quick and timely manner. Schedule shutdowns with building coordinators and facilities manager to ensure Augusta University buildings and its customers are not being disrupted. Communicate with facilities manager of any future work that needs to be completed to ensure Augusta University buildings are effectively operating. Document and notify facilities manager of any equipment failure and/or potential failures. Document all corrective actions in detail on assigned work requests. Document all time spent on completing work requests
Leadership
Utilizes effective critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills to make decisions and communicates tactfully to facilities operations staff. Provides training to facilities operations staff regarding new methods, policies, procedures, and Augusta University topics. Provides department strategic planning, sound leadership, and direction to facilities operations staff. This position will provide clear goals and expectations to facilities operations employees. Attend weekly meetings with the facilities manager to update on work orders completed as well as upcoming projects. Works closely with facilities operations staff to provide guidance and developmental plans for all staff to be successful as well as identifying opportunities for all staff to excel.

Contract Management
Estimates materials needed and records time and material expended on each work order. Prepares and submits material requisitions required to complete assigned tasks. Reads, interprets blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, to determine appropriate job requirements and procedures. Perform shutdowns of assigned systems as required for maintenance or for project support. This includes chillers, boilers, chilled water systems, heating water systems, steam systems, HVAC systems, and electrical systems. Oversee and manage all contracts and ensure they are completed. Schedule walkthroughs with contractors to ensure project sites are clean throughout the entire project as well as ensuring projects are being completed. The electrical supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all electrical contractors are adhering to and following Augusta University policies.
Communication
Consistently provide professional, accurate, tactful, and timely written and verbal communications to Facilities staff as well as other Augusta University staff. Establishes and maintains positive collaborative working relationships with all levels of Augusta University. Communicate to facilities manager, director, and vice president any emergency repairs that need to be completed.
Performs Related Work as Required
Expected to work after normal working hours or on weekends in emergencies. The above responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed. Required Qualifications
High School diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accredited with ten years of experience in a facilities maintenance and/or construction field, with a minimum of five years of supervisory experience.

ABILITIES
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Must be able to work independently and also as a team member.
Must be able to work well with co-workers, employees, and faculty.
Must be able to assume Electrical Supervisor duties as required.
Must be able to wear respirator and perform asbestos related work.
KNOWLEDGE
Must have general mechanical aptitude and be able to safely and effectively operate hand tools, physically enter and work inside of small confined spaces (boilers, vaults, and pressure vessels), climb ladders and work at various heights. This position requires a moderate amount of physical exertion daily. That includes walking, lifting heavy objects up to (751bs), kneeling, and crawling. Must be proficient in the use of the industrial electrical building system.
Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment of the electrical trade.
Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the electrical trade.
Considerable knowledge of state and national codes.
Must have considerable knowledge of fire alarm systems.
SKILLS
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
Read and interprets blueprints, sketches, and diagrams.
Skill in the use of and care of tools and equipment of the electrical trade.
Skills in locating and adjusting defects in electrical systems and equipment.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days: Days/M-F 8 am until 4:30 pm, some after hours and weekend work maybe required for this position. (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: 13
Salary Minimum: $68,500.00/Annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
