Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

The Role:
Are you looking for an opportunity to develop software applications and services for an advanced global telecom service? The Kuiper Customer Experience team is responsible for customer-facing interfaces, including the Kuiper ISP platform, website, mobile apps, and AWS console experience. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of globally available systems that power these experiences.

In this role, you will build high-performance systems using the latest Amazon and AWS technologies while applying industry-best software engineering practices. You’ll work across the Kuiper Software & Networking org to deliver low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to millions of customers globally.


Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement telecom applications and Services.
- Partner with the Networking, Commerce, Devices, and Security engineering teams.
- Drive customer-facing systems and data architectures.


Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
