The Compliance Specialist III position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Compliance within the University Integrity and Compliance Office. The position’s primary role is to support the development and operations of the university’s compliance and ethics program.

This position is required to frequently interact with university administration, faculty, and staff and develop strong working relationships with those individuals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performing on-going development and maintenance of the university’s policy and procedure library and maintaining version history of published policies and procedures;
Assisting university departments, schools, and administration with creating and writing effective policies and procedures, revising existing policies and procedures, and the policy creation and approval process;
Assisting with the review and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures;
Responding to compliance, ethics, policy, and other inquiries and tracking and documenting the status and response of each inquiry;
Responding to complaints, conducting internal investigations, preparing associated reports, maintaining report files, monitoring the university’s compliance and ethics hotline, and serving as a back-up system administrator for the university’s compliance and ethics hotline.
Working with university compliance officials in the completion of an institutional-wide compliance risk assessment and establishment of risk mitigation plans;
Promoting the university’s compliance and ethics program, code of conduct, hotline, and other university-wide compliance awareness and training initiatives;
Developing and coordinating general compliance training for new and existing employees;
Screening employees, vendors, and affiliates against governmental exclusion and debarment lists, training system users on how to use the sanction check system and perform exclusion screenings, and serving as a back-up system administrator for the university’s sanction check screening system;
Completing other special projects assigned, such as compliance reviews, monitoring or research;
Performing on-going development and maintenance of the departmental websites;
Serving on university compliance committees;
Maintaining knowledge of higher education compliance requirements and completion and tracking of continued professional education; and
Preferred Qualifications
Three or more years work experience in compliance and ethics.
Experience working in higher education is a plus.
Preference will be given to candidates with strong interpersonal skills, effective writing and communication skills, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate.
Position requires a strong attention to detail.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
