2025 Summer Intern - Information Technology and Operational Technology
Department Summary:
This position, based in Genentech's Hillsboro, Oregon facility, provides the opportunity to have a key role in a highly automated pharmaceutical drug substance facility. The site employs highly integrated computer control systems to manage plant operations and manufacturing data. The candidate will report to the local IT OT organization, an organization that is currently undergoing a transformation towards digitalization, advancing fundamental elements to meet future needs, such as standardizing and leveraging new technologies.
The IT OT Team in Hillsboro is supporting Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO) which is the commercial Make Assess and Release (MAR) and launch site for North America and Hillsboro Individualized and Cell Therapies (HIT) which is transitioning into a multi-product facility for development, clinical and commercial supply capabilities for individualized and cell therapies
This internship position is located in Hillsboro, Oregon and is onsite.
The Opportunity:
Set up system structures and assignment groups for ITOT in ServiceNOW (SNOW)
Build reporting in SNOW for execution squads that align with department metrics and KPIs
Support Business Support team with projects and routine tasks supporting the HTO and HIT sites and regional initiatives.
On a regular basis analyze processes, make suggestions for improvement to management, & provide input to improving systems/processes.
Foster an environment that encourages continuous learning. Maintain expertise as necessary to stay abreast of technical and industry advancements.
Demonstrated capability of applying a broad scope of regulatory policies, guidelines & requirements applicable to assigned areas and suggesting improvements.
Represents group on cross functional teams or projects of limited scope
Program Highlights
Intensive 6 months, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start dates are in Spring and Summer.
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Who You Are (Required)
Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:
- Must be pursuing or have attained an Associate's Degree, Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree
Required majors:
- Informatics Systems, or science related field/experience
Required skills:
Basic knowledge of systems infrastructure
Experience in SNOW
Customer Support
Excel or spreadsheet experience
Real-world problem solving experience
Professional level written and oral communication skills.
Key to this position is the demonstrated ability to provide technical input and teamwork in a cGMP environment across functional and organizational boundaries

The expected salary for this position based on the primary location of Oregon is $45.00 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
