About the Role
Join the dynamic and progressive team in the Medical-Surgical Oncology Inpatient department at Mater Hospital, North Sydney
Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to patients on the 25-bedded McAuley ward, working with specialists including Breast and GI surgeons and medical oncologists
Play a pivotal role in the delivery of cancer services, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to support oncology patients
Collaborate closely with the Melanoma Institute Australia to ensure best practice care and patient outcomes
Deliver care in line with the Philosophy, Mission, and Values of St Vincent’s Health Australia and Mater Hospital policies and procedures
Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the department, ensuring all patient care aligns with SVHA's commitment to excellence and safety
About You
Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA)
Recent clinical experience as a registered nurse in a Medical-Surgical Oncology ward, or a strong desire to work in this area
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues
Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
Strong computer literacy skills with demonstrated experience using health information systems
Evidence of critical thinking in the delivery of evidence-based nursing care, ensuring best practice outcomes
Sound knowledge of Department of Health Guidelines and Regulations, Workplace Health and Safety, and Infection Control, and their impact on patient care
