About the Role

  • Join the dynamic and progressive team in the Medical-Surgical Oncology Inpatient department at Mater Hospital, North Sydney

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to patients on the 25-bedded McAuley ward, working with specialists including Breast and GI surgeons and medical oncologists

  • Play a pivotal role in the delivery of cancer services, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to support oncology patients

  • Collaborate closely with the Melanoma Institute Australia to ensure best practice care and patient outcomes

  • Deliver care in line with the Philosophy, Mission, and Values of St Vincent’s Health Australia and Mater Hospital policies and procedures

  • Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the department, ensuring all patient care aligns with SVHA's commitment to excellence and safety

About You

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA)

  • Recent clinical experience as a registered nurse in a Medical-Surgical Oncology ward, or a strong desire to work in this area

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues

  • Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team

  • Strong computer literacy skills with demonstrated experience using health information systems

  • Evidence of critical thinking in the delivery of evidence-based nursing care, ensuring best practice outcomes

  • Sound knowledge of Department of Health Guidelines and Regulations, Workplace Health and Safety, and Infection Control, and their impact on patient care

  • A deep commitment to the Philosophy, Mission, Values, and Ethics of St Vincent’s Health Australia, upholding the Code of Conduct in all interactions
