Assists the lab in performing tasks related to specimen procurement, processing and distributing within laboratory sub-specialty areas. Assists with maintaining laboratory recordkeeping and data recordings.
Responsibilities
Handles laboratory specimens for testing processing and distributes based on established laboratory policies
JOB IS FROM: nursingjobs.siteVIEWPerforms specimen set-up procedures per laboratory policies
Processes specimens, maintains laboratory logs according to stated procedures, performs special handling and packing for referral testing.
Utilizes laboratory information systems and logs. Prints appropriate reports, labels and requisitions.
Assists with Performance improvement projects and quality activities.
Provides clerical support to laboratory specialty areas
Assists in maintaining inventory of supplies as required
Education
Currently enrolled and at least sophomore status in an accredited undergraduate biological science program (chemistry, laboratory science, biology, etc)
