As an Oncology Infusion RN at Allina Health Cancer Institute – Minneapolis, you will be at the forefront of compassionate, patient-centered care, utilizing cutting-edge technology and innovative treatment methods. Your role will be integral in providing personalized cancer care, combining clinical research, genetic counseling, and alternative therapies to meet the unique needs of each patient and their family.Key Position Details:
- 0.8 FTE (64 hours per 2-week pay period)
- 8-hour day/evening shifts
- Weekend requirements per department rotation.
- RN experience in oncology infusion, general infusion or ICU preferred.
- This is a union represented position, but no collective bargaining agreement is yet in effect.
Job Description:
Manages patient care infusion encounters by utilizing a systematic approach to nursing practice that includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. This includes collaborating with multidisciplinary hematology/oncology care team members, along with internal and external ancillary partners, in a fast-paced environment. Dedicated to the growth and development of the Allina Health Cancer Institute, incorporating evidence-based practice initiatives that align with ONS, NCCN, COC, and organizational standards of care.
Principle Responsibilities
- Delivery of chemotherapy, biotherapy and supportive care to hematology/oncology patients in accordance with Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards, and Allina Health Cancer Institute Policy. JOB IS FROM: nursingjobs.siteVIEW
- Complete Patient Assessment and Education.
- Collaborate with health care team in order to coordinate and maintain continuity of care.
- Administrative tasks including indirect nursing activities which promote quality patient care.
- Documentation of care per Allina Health Cancer Institute policies and practice.
- Maintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients
- Comply with research protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Vocational degree in Nursing. Along with 1 year of ambulatory chemo/biotherapy experience or 3 years inpatient chemo/biotherapy infusion experience
- 0 to 2 years experience with Ambulatory Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Infusion. May consider nurses with 2 or more years inpatient chemo/biotherapy infusion experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- 0 to 2 years Peripheral IV Insertion skills. Or willing to be trained within 60 days of hire
- 0 to 2 years Phlebotomy skills. Or willing to be trained within 60 days of hire
- 0 to 2 years experience EPIC EMR, including Beacon application. Or willing to be trained at time of hire
Licenses/Certifications
- ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Provider Card required upon completion of Allina onboarding, within 30 days of hire
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation must be obtained within 3 years of hire required for those hired before April 1, 2024; for those hired on/after April 1, 2024, must obtain within 30 months
- Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required
- Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
◦ Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
◦ Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
◦ Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Pay Range
Pay Range: $41.98 to $58.08 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.Benefit Summary
