The Opportunity:
Under general supervision, you will perform a variety of skilled gardening duties to maintain safe, clean, and attractive grounds on the Pullman Campus of Washington State University (WSU). Your efforts will ensure the campus remains beautiful and welcoming for everyone.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to do required work, and one (1) year of experience or training involving grounds maintenance, gardening, plant care, cultivation and landscape installation.
One (1) year experience plus knowledge of grounds maintenance procedures and techniques, plant material identification and cultural needs, and current horticultural practices.
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Must have, or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire, a current Public Pesticide Applicators license.
Physical ability to perform the duties.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Ability to demonstrate and use a variety of hand and motorized tools such as; pruners, loppers, shovels, rakes, hoes, mowers, blowers, edgers, litter picker, chain saw, trimmers, string trimmers and sprayers.

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary:
$3,317 to $3,999 | Range 34 (Steps E - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
