As Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) of the Neuro ICU, your efforts will focus on providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors and fellow healthcare staff. You will assist the department with various administrative and cleric tasks, such as troubleshooting technologies, coordinating transfers and educating patients about available resources. You will also gain hands-on experience and endless learning opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
A caregiver in this position works rotating days/nights from 7:00AM - 7:00PM and 7:30PM - 7:00AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
JOB IS FROM: nursingjobs.siteVIEW- Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
- Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
- Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
- Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
- Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
- Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma/GED
- One year of experience in a customer service-related role
- Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- College degree
- Microsoft Office experience

Physical Requirements:
- Full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
- Frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time
- Normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision
- Some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids

- Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
