The hiring range for this role is:

This internship is located in Chicago, IL or Washington D.C. This is a hybrid position with 3-4 days in-office.
As an intern, you will:
• Write and edit articles for BCBSA newsletters using the smart brevity writing technique.
• Research health care and BCBS topics to find content for articles.
• Create communication plans.
• Learn how to use common communication tools and platforms for distributing and optimizing content.
• Measure the effectiveness of communications.
• Provide feedback and recommendations for team training manual based on your experience.
Primary Job Functions
Write, edit and research content for BCBSA newsletters.
Learn how to use communication tools and platforms for distributing and optimizing content.
Create communication plans.
Measure the effectiveness of communications.
Create a final PowerPoint presentation to share with department leadership, summarizing the internship experience, the assigned project, results, and any recommendations for future use.
Ensure complete confidentiality of company business.
Keep management informed about developments within areas of responsibility and handle special projects as needed.

Adhere to HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies, and other relevant corporate and departmental policies.
Education, Experience and Certification
Education
Required:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English or related degree.
- Graduation date between December 2025 – June 2026 (preferred)
- A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Availability to work ten weeks during the summer

Strong computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint preferred.
