Responsibilities include being a partner in the care management team, providing coordination and management of patient care to pediatric patients and families within a continuum of care and delegating patient activities as appropriate within a care management assignment. Functions within professional and hospital standards.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or a BSN to meet the recommended entry level for a professional nurse (or equivalent academic and/or professional experience). A BSN is preferred.
2 years of nursing experience is required; preferably prior Pediatric experience.
A current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin.
Knowledge of the principles of neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent growth and development and child/family responses to fear, illness, injury and hospitalization.
Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
PALS certification required within one year of hire.
Hours:
Three 10-hour shifts per week.
Start times rotate 7:30am, 8:00am, 8:30am, 9:00am, and 9:30am start times.
On-Call requirement: Approximately 2 overnight weekday call shifts per month, plus approximately every 5th weekend on-call.
For on-call shifts, nurse must be able to arrive at hospital within 30 mins.
Holiday rotation required.
