The Clinical Risk Coordinator maintains key data elements that support the Risk Management Program, Quality Division and the healthcare system. The Clinical Risk Coordinator supports the Risk Program using clinical and technical knowledge to develop processes that support our culture of safety. Risk Management activities focus on the environment, care or service provided and minimizing the risk of litigation or negative impact on the organization’s ability to meet the expectations of its patients and the community.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required with a minimum of five years clinical nursing experience.
Minimum of 2 years in healthcare risk management or quality management.
Understanding of quality improvement methodology and patient safety principles.
Knowledge of JCHAO, TDH, OSHA, licensing boards and other regulatory agency issues and standards.
Computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various risk management software products including EHR/EMR systems.
Ability to use data for analysis.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to work with all members of the health care team to achieve positive outcomes.
Must be able to adapt to changing healthcare environment and requirements.
Certification/Licensure:
Current license as a registered nurse in the state of Texas.
If not CPHRM at time of hire, CPHRM is required within two years of hire date.
