Adult Trauma Program Intern
Job Summary
Support of the Doornbos family, the Acute Care Surgery service line, in partnership with the Corewell Health West Michigan Foundation, Corwell Health Research Institute, and Michigan State Medical School, have developed a 6-week trauma research internship, 7/1/25-8/8/25. This unique opportunity is offered to second year medical students at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. This student will have access to our Acute Care Surgery clinical teams to bring relevant clinical context to the research work being performed through shadowing experiences.
Essential Functions
- Maintains accountability for completing support tasks as directed.

- May analyzes department processes and other Spectrum Health systems encountered and makes recommendations improvements, as appropriate. Participates in quality monitoring activities/process improvement activities.
- Communicates, collaborates, and acts as a team player with others in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services.

Required
- Second Year Medical Student at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine
