Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Attends Site Initiation Visits for new trials and assists in the development and implementation of research treatment plans.
- Provides a thorough review of treatment parameters and patient treatment toxicity.
- Utilizes study protocols in conjunction with the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) to assess for adjustments in treatment dosing.
- Navigates the research treatment plan and supports infusion nursing in reviewing required treatment parameters, pre-medications, chemotherapy dosing and research specific assessments.
- Coordinates with the treating team, investigational pharmacy, clinical pharmacists, infusion nursing, clinical research coordinators, protocol content administration team and other required departments to assist in constructing and executing an appropriate plan of care for each research patient.
- Performs post-checks of patient’s charts after treatment is complete.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of chemotherapy drugs and supportive care.
- Maintains required skills and competencies through participation in education programs, staff meetings, continuing education opportunities, in-services, or classes.
- Offers constructive solutions to clinical challenges and process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal relationships with supervisors, co-workers, physicians and employees of other departments.
- Displays a helpful, positive attitude at all times.
- Initiates and maintains professional relationships with patients and their families.
- Administrative duties, as assigned (ex. developing research specific source documents to be used by nursing, weekly patients lists to confirm medication is at the appropriate locations each week for each patient, special projects).

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current state (MO/IL) RN licensure as applicable by state of work location, in accordance with Compact Act.
- Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
