About Our Job
The Department of Safety is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Physical Therapy Clinical Rotation Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on clinical experience under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapists. Interns will gain practical knowledge in patient evaluation, treatment planning, therapeutic exercises, and rehabilitation techniques in a dynamic healthcare setting.
The Physical Therapy Clinical Rotation Intern will learn and assist the team by providing both proactive and post-injury physical therapy treatment to Department of Safety employees to prevent employee injuries, minimize severity of injuries that do occur, speed their return to full capacity after an injury or incident, and educate employees regarding appropriate self-care to optimize physical performance.
The Wellness Team is the provider of rehabilitative and physical therapy services dedicated to improving patient mobility, function, and quality of life. We are committed to providing high-quality patient care, fostering professional growth, and supporting the next generation of physical therapy professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist physical therapists with patient evaluations, treatment plans, and therapy sessions.
Observe and participate in patient care, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities.
Document patient progress under supervision and learn electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Educate patients on home exercise programs and injury prevention techniques.
Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment.
Adhere to all facility policies, HIPAA regulations, and professional ethical standards.
Ideal Candidate:
Currently enrolled in final rotation/clinic experience with an accredited Doctor of Physical Therapist.
Completion of prerequisite coursework as required by the academic institution.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
CPR certification.

Below are the minimum requirements used to determine eligibility for this position:
Education requirement: Current enrollment in an accredited college program leading to a certificate, licensure, associates, bachelor’s or higher degree, or a recent graduate (completed specified program within 1 year of completion).
Experience Requirement: None
Education/Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted.
License/Certifications: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
