The 4100 Cardiac Telemetry/Renal Unit specializes in treating diverse and complex conditions, including congestive heart failure, cardiac arrythmia, acute coronary syndrome and multiple others. As Senior Nursing Technician, you are responsible for performing various patient care assistance tasks alongside a supportive RN. In this role, you will exemplify the Cleveland Clinic Values and Guest Service standards, ensuring patients receive the best, top-quality support they need to thrive. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:00AM – 3:30PM or 3:00PM – 11:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Prepare units, patient rooms and patient beds for admission, returning surgical patients, transfers or emergencies.
- Provide and document assigned care (e.g., bathing, changing and/or refreshing of bed linens, dressing/undressing of patient, back rubs, etc.) and other general care throughout the day to ensure physical comfort.
- Collect and document temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, weight, height and intake/output in an accurate and precise manner.
- Assist with pre- and post-operative care, such as turning and positioning patients, applying/utilizing special equipment and ambulating the patient as directed in a safe, prescribed manner.
- Perform hourly safety rounds, anticipate patient needs and respond to patient call lights promptly.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Job or educational experience providing basic computer knowledge and skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Certification
- One year of recent acute care experience

Physical Requirements:
- Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
