Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Emergency Department - Salem Hospital (massgeneralbrigham)
Job posting number: #223895 (Ref:RQ4004279)
Job Description
Site: Mass General Brigham Medical Group Northern Massachusetts, Inc.
At Mass General Brigham, we know it takes a surprising range of talented professionals to advance our mission—from doctors, nurses, business people and tech experts, to dedicated researchers and systems analysts. As a not-for-profit organization, Mass General Brigham is committed to supporting patient care, research, teaching, and service to the community. We place great value on being a diverse, equitable and inclusive organization as we aim to reflect the diversity of the patients we serve.
At Mass General Brigham, we believe a diverse set of backgrounds and lived experiences makes us stronger by challenging our assumptions with new perspectives that can drive revolutionary discoveries in medical innovations in research and patient care. Therefore, we invite and welcome applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups in healthcare — people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQ community, and/or gender expansive, first and second-generation immigrants, veterans, and people from different socioeconomic backgrounds – to apply.
We are the only emergency department on the North Shore staffed 24/7 with board certified pediatricians and pediatric nurses. We provide advanced pediatric emergency care while also providing an “ouchless” experience for our youngest patients. We do this through non-invasive pain relief techniques that reduce anxiety and discomfort for children and their families. We also offer access to a wide range of pediatric specialists. Our Pediatric Emergency department is located inside our Emergency Department at 3 Dove Avenue in Salem, MA. We have a dedicated waiting room for our youngest patients, as well as dedicated pediatric patient bays.
We are looking for a seasoned Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to work 30 hours per week. The schedule will consist of (3) 10-hour, rotating shifts per week from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Weekends and Holidays are included (expectation of approximately 3-4 weekend shifts per month).
Our NPs work autonomously up to the top of their licensure and collaborate with physicians as needed to ensure high quality, safe and timely care for patients with various chief complaints. The NP team manages very sick patients, handles various high acuity procedures, and performs medical screening examinations in order to stabilize and treat those seeking services from the Emergency Room.
Are you ready to bring your talent to this team and join us in driving medicine forward? In this part-time role, you will have access to a competitive benefits package tailored to meet your needs and the ability to work up to the top of your licensure in a fast-paced, team-centered environment.
