Registered Nurse, Vascular Access, Per Diem (ummh)

Job Description
1. Coordinate with other hospital departments and teams (e.g., Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Surgical services, Emergency, Pharmacy and Cancer center) to optimize patient care and enhance vascular access services.
2. Conduct regular rounds on units to provide support to nursing, patients, and families, and collaborate with provider and care team members.
3. Collect data with a focus on Infection Control (CLABSI prevention) and quality improvement work.
4. Assist with initiatives specific to vascular access improvements.
5. Support ongoing education and training related to vascular access nursing skills.
6. Maintain competency in placing USGIV, Midlines, PICC lines.
7. Insertion and management of inpatient’s ultrasound guided IV’s, midlines, and PICC lines with ECG guidance.

1. Registered Nurse
2. PICC certification obtained during orientation
3. BLS
Preferred:
1. BSN
Experience/Skills:

1. ICU or Critical care experience

1. Vascular Access Board certification (VA-BC certification)
