As an End User Engineer Summer Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supporting end-user devices and systems within our organization.
Job Description: We are seeking a motivated End User Engineer Summer Intern to join our End user engineering infrastructure team. As an intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers to provide technical support and assistance to end-users across the organization. You will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing end-user devices and but also to delve into the world of data analysis, application packaging and scripting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to provide technical support and assistance to end-users across the organization.
- Gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing end-user devices and systems, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Learn to build application packages for deployment across the organization, ensuring seamless integration and user experience.
- Explore scripting languages and methodologies to automate routine tasks and streamline processes within the End User Engineering Infrastructure Team.
- Contribute to the documentation of technical processes, procedures, and knowledge base articles to enhance team efficiency and knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends related to end-user support, application packaging, and scripting.
- Collaborate with the infrastructure team to implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving end-user support services and processes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Currently attend a Maryland high school as a junior/senior.
- Currently attend a Maryland higher education institution.
- Graduated from a Maryland high school but currently attend a non-Maryland higher education institution.
- Graduated from a Maryland high school and is currently enrolled or graduated from a career technical training program.
- Available to work a minimum of 20 per week.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in IT infrastructure, end-user support, and technology.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Prior experience with IT support or customer service is a plus but not required.
