Job Summary
Summary<br>The Nurse Practitioner provides care to patients under the direct supervision of a board eligible or board-certified physician. The services provided falls within the scope of overall practice by the Nurse Practitioner including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of individuals with medical and psychiat+M151ric disorders.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>Yes<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Provides clinical services including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment to patients <br>-Documents each clinical visit in the medical record on the day of service. Contributes to treatment plans and discharge summaries. <br>
-Participates in team rounds and other clinical meetings, and helps coordinate all treatment and discharge planning <br>
-Oversees appropriate medical care & prescribes medications as noted in the “McLean Hospital Guidelines for Practice Document” <br>
-Meets with families for clinical discussions as needed <br>
-Communicates with referring sources, primary care physicians, and other community providers <br>
-Attends program and hospital administrative meetings as required <br>
-Complies with all hospital clinical and administrative policies <br>
-Participates in utilization management, risk management, and quality assurance activities <br>
-Provides supervision of medical trainees, nursing trainees, and others as appropriate <br>
-Facilitates integration of medical services with other clinical program services <br>
-Will attend supervision by supervising psychiatrist/MD <br>
Qualifications
Education
Master's Degree Nursing required
Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
Licenses and Credentials
Nurse Practitioner [NP] / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
Experience
One year nurse practitioner experience treating adolescents and/or psychiatric patients preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication, clinical and administrative purposes.
