The Cleveland Clinic Pharmacy Internship Program helps aspiring Pharmacists develop knowledge and skills necessary for medication management, refills and deliverance. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience throughout your entire four years of schooling, offering an unmatched opportunity to enter the healthcare field fully prepared and ready to facilitate top-quality patient support.
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts, with every third weekend requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related issues.
- Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
- Compound and prepare medications for delivery to patient care areas.
- Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
- Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Current enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy Program meeting education requirements to qualify for intern license in the State of Ohio OR International pharmacy experience meeting the requirements to qualify for the Foreign Graduate Pharmacy Intern License
- Current State Board of Pharmacy Intern License (PH/INT)

- Typical physical demands include ability to perform job while standing, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of job.
