Job SummaryThe Telesitter Monitor Technician is responsible for continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients through a non-recording video monitoring system
Reports to: Director of Patient Placement
Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
• Monitor potentially life threatening risk behaviors exhibited by low risk suicidal patients and patients at high risk for falls, elopement, violence,etc. ; Verbally redirect or STAT alarm patient risk behaviors while notifying nursing staff for assistance
• Ensures all patient information is entered into the monitoring hardware device correctly and information is documented in the Telesitter monitoring log
• Monitors use and distribution of telesitter monitoring devices throughout the assigned unit
• All other related assigned duties

• High School Diploma or GED

Skills and Abilities

• Able to multi-task and prioritize to meet competing deadlines
• Ability to extend and maintain discretion and confidentiality when working with patients
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
This role will interact closely with nursing unit, medical staff, patients, and other hospital departments
Physical Capabilities
Work is demanding and requires ability to monitor up to 12 patients on one screen at a time. Talking and hearing is essential for communicating with patients and nursing staff. Must be able to verbally communicate using a microphone and headset
Environmental/Working Conditions
This position is subject to varying indoor temperature changes. Work is performed in a low- risk area for exposure to blood borne pathogens and other biowaste hazards.
