Arvin Post Acute, a respected and high-performing skilled nursing facility in the Bakersfield area, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team. Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the nursing department

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and company standards

• Lead and mentor clinical staff, fostering a positive and professional work culture

• Coordinate care planning, resident assessments, and clinical outcomes

• Participate in facility leadership meetings and strategic planning

• Conduct staff evaluations, ongoing training, and performance improvement initiatives

• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and families to ensure quality resident care

• Respond to audits, inspections, and surveys to maintain high regulatory standards

• Monitor staffing, scheduling, and retention within the nursing department

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of California (in good standing)

• Minimum of 3 years in a DON or ADON role (Skilled Nursing Facility preferred)

• Strong knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• Proven success in staff development, compliance, and resident care management

• EMR experience (PointClickCare preferred)
