Job Description

SW Quality Engineer for Automotive Applications

As Software Quality / Process Engineer you will be responsible to ensure that the NXP software products delivered to the automotive customers are compliant with the established software quality process created on the standards/models required in Automotive industry (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, Automotive SPICE, CMMI)

Tasks

  • To contribute to the software development process definition and roll-out on projects, in order to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products;
  • Supervise projects quality assurance activities and provide directions / improvements.
  • Contribute and present projects during Automotive SPICE assessments lead by the NXP Automotive Customers
  • To continuously improve the software development processes by building continuous improvement plans and tracking to closer of the improvement tasks - to ensure the enhancement of software products quality
  • Planning and executing of IATF 16949/ Automotive SPICE/ ISO 26262/ ISO 21434 process compliance internal audits in order to identify weakness in the products or processes and ensure timely tracking to closure of the corrective actions.

  • Member of the SW process definition group
  • To implement product specific metrics according with the project metrics plan in order to assess the maturity of the process and product development
  • To review the quality documentation for both NXP and third-parties software deliverables, in order to ensure that the product meets customers quality expectations
  • Contribute to the preparation effort for the IATF 16949 certification
  • Preparing and delivering software process and tools trainings for NXP employees and partners


Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Understanding the content and process areas for one of the standards and models like: ISO9001,  CMMI
  • Ability to interpret and apply quality standards
  • Ability to define a software process by defining roles, activities and deliverables
  • Understanding software metrics/measurement systems
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (Oral and Written)
  • Self-motivated and self-driven
  • Ability to successfully manage conflict
  • Ability to rapidly learn and master software tools and process methodologies
