Job Summary:
The Student Health Nurse is responsible for assessment and care of a college-aged population. This includes appropriate triage, functioning within treatment protocols and documentation of all care.Location: Methodist Fremont Health

Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm May include some evening and weekend hours depending on Student/University needs.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
Triages by taking medical history and performing sufficient physical exam to determine the patient's needed level of care. Treats based on protocols and procedures.
Administers and records vaccines, medications, PPD skin tests.
Collects samples of blood, urine, feces, and gynecological cultures for laboratory tests; instructs patients in proper procedure for collection as needed.
Responsible for organizing annual flu shot clinics.
Performs student drug screens.
Collaborates with other team members to ensure continuity of care.
Utilizes electronic medical record to schedule patients and document care.
Supports and ensures delivery of wellness education and outreach efforts on campus including programming, events, website and brochures.
Promotes and engages students, staff and faculty in community health education and initiatives.
Applies appropriate policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice for performance of clinical duties.
Assists with organizing clinic supplies in order to expedite services. Keeps Health Center clean and orderly.
Assists with monitoring matriculating student health records for compliance.
Assists with auditing and monitoring ongoing student compliance.

Job Requirements
Education
- Graduation from an accredited School or College of nursing required.
License/Certifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska, compact state) required.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
Experience
- Prior work experience in a clinic or college health setting is preferred.
Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with others.
- Ability to complete a comprehensive diagnostic assessment and document findings.
- Skill in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office equipment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work assignments.
