Work Schedule: This is a casual position. Casual employees work on an ‘as needed’ basis to meet the needs of the business.  Work days/hours will often vary from week to week. Typical schedule will be between Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm. Occasional Weekend and post 5pm hours depending on need.

Provides administrative and outreach support to the Community Engagement and Health Promotion team. Supports planning, coordination, and implementation of community-based initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals around health equity, cancer prevention, early detection, and public education.

Responsibilities:

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s level degree program in Public Health, Social Work, Health Education, or a related field from an accredited university, required.

  • A current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or Affiliation Agreement must be in place between the organization and the university, required.

Experience

  • Community outreach, public health promotion, or related volunteer/internship experience preferred but not required.

Licenses/Certifications

  • None required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work with diverse populations and build community trust.

  • Knowledge of community health principles and health disparities.

  • Comfortable with public speaking and facilitating group discussions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, etc.) a plus.
