The Opportunity:
Under general supervision, you will perform a variety of skilled gardening duties to maintain safe, clean, and attractive grounds on the Pullman Campus of Washington State University (WSU). Your efforts will ensure the campus remains beautiful and welcoming for everyone.

Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3,317 to $3,999 | Range 34 (Steps E - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
Incentives: To support WSU’s ability to attract talent in a competitive job market, this recruitment has been approved for a hiring incentive payment of up to $2,500.00. Required Qualifications:
Ability to do required work, and one (1) year of experience or training involving grounds maintenance, gardening, plant care, cultivation and landscape installation.
More than one (1) year experience plus knowledge of grounds maintenance procedures and techniques, plant material identification and cultural needs, and current horticultural practices.
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Must have a current Public Pesticide Applicators license or be able to obtain the required license within six (6) months of hire.
Physical ability to perform the duties.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Ability to use a variety of hand and motorized tools such as; pruners, loppers, shovels, rakes, hoes, mowers, blowers, edgers, litter picker, chain saw, trimmers, string trimmers and sprayers.
