As a vital member of the Pharmacy Team, the Pharmacy Technician assists and supports the Pharmacists by helping to provide accurate, efficient, timely, and personalized pharmaceutical care to our patients.Required Behaviors:

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent
- Must complete CPhT within one (1) year of hire if not already certified
- Must complete the SJRMC structured on-the-job didactic and experiential IV compounding training with competency evaluation through demonstration and testing within one (1) year
- Must register with the New Mexico State Board of Pharmacy within ten (10) days of date of hire if not already registered
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPhT certification
- Experience in Sterile Preparations Compounding
- Hospital pharmacy experience
- Good math skills
- Good computer skills
- Good customer service skills
- Cooperative
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drug distribution
- Sterile preparations compounding
- Order entry
- Charging
- Filling employee prescriptions
- Clerical functions
- Assists pharmacists and other colleagues
- Department liaison/ambassador
- Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work:
Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:
- Subject to hazardous drug exposure (i.e., antineoplastics, antibiotics, anesthetic vapors)
- Subject to lifting twenty-five (25) pounds
- Standing or walking for most of shift
