Job Summary
This Research Assistant (RA) will work on clinical trials currently being conducted for the Division of Preventive Medicine. Working under the supervision of the Clinical Project Coordinator, the employee in this position will perform a variety of tasks, including meeting with study participants and conducting the study visits. They will help collect and manage study data. This RA will also be responsible for completing participant questionnaires and records during the visits and reviewing data collection forms for accuracy. This position is onsite clinic work.
Qualifications
Study Visit:
- Works with Clinical Project Coordinator and/or Project Manager and PI to conduct study visits at the clinic.
- Communicates with participants through phone calls, in-person, and email as it pertains to clinic visit reminders and completing the study protocol.
- Oversees all aspects of subject’s clinic visit according to the research protocol, hospital and study policies, procedures, and other data collection protocols. Performs study measurements and documents these measurements according to study protocol. Practices independent judgment regarding study appointments.
- Follows all safety procedures during study appointments. Pages, emails, or calls Study Manager, Safety MD, and PI as required by safety protocols. Interacts with clinic staff as required.
- Compiles lists of follow-up calls and compliance issues as needed.
- Trains on study measures.
- Participates in ongoing Quality Assurance Audits.
- Re-trained yearly on study measurements by Study Manager or Lead RA. Completes extra trainings throughout the year as needed or required by Study PIs.
- Transports study blood and urine samples according to hospital protocol. Generates lab requisitions sheets.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings; other research meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA or BS
- Ability to understand the underlying principles of a research study and to apply these principles to day-to-day tasks.
- Computer literacy.
- Work experience in customer service or research experience

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to details.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively and professionally with a diverse group of study participants.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and priority setting skills.
- A general familiarity with computers and knowledge of how to use software programs.
- Flexible and able to manage multiple tasks.
