Job Summary:
Location: Methodist Fremont Health HospitalAddress: 450 E 23rd St. - Fremont, NE
Scheduled Hours: Flexible schedule of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends possible, no holidays.
Responsible for providing therapy services to individuals and their families within scope of training and under the supervision of a LMHP/LIMHP as part of the multidisciplinary team. Supervised therapy services to include: completing Psychosocial Assessments, facilitating family therapy, group therapy and individual therapy as indicated. Develops, implements, and reviews treatment plans. Provides therapy services to individuals and their families across the spectrum of mental health conditions. Participates in weekly supervision with a LMHP/LIMHP to review the Intern/Student’s clinical work as guided by profession standards and Intern/Student’s participating academic program requirements. All activities of the Behavioral Health Therapist Intern/Student shall be under supervision of a LMHP/LIMHP and physician Medical Director of Psychiatry in accordance with State and Federal standards and Medical Staff Bylaws pertaining to Advanced Practice Providers. Obtains and maintains a Scope of Practice /Collaborative Practice Agreement with a state licensed physician on active medical staff at Methodist Fremont Health.
The expectation is that upon completion of internship and coursework the employee would fulfill privilege requirements as noted in the Methodist Fremont Health Delineation of Privileges for Allied Health Professional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner.

Responsibilities:
Education
- Currently enrolled in Practicum/Internship semester/term of a Master's degree program with a mental health therapy focus (applicable counseling or social work would be considered) from a regionally accredited program of higher education and includes graduate course work in specific areas required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to effectively plan and implement therapeutic interventions in a multi-disciplinary setting with appropriate supervision.
- Skill in the use of personal computer and standard software (Microsoft and office equipment).
- Knowledge of and/or course work in the areas of the mental health needs of pediatric, adult, geriatric populations, and drug and alcohol treatment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, physicians, patients and community resource representatives.
- Privileges to evaluate, diagnose, and provide primary mental health assessment and treatment using cognitive behavioral, play, and structural/strategic therapeutic techniques. LMHPs and PLMHPs may provide these services, with the exception of diagnosing the 7 major mental health diagnoses (e.g. ADHD, anxiety disorders, autism, bipolar disorders, borderline personality disorder, depression, dissociative disorders, early psychosis and psychosis). LIMHPs are not restricted and may diagnose these disorders. The therapist may not admit patients to the hospital or provide medication management. The therapist may assess and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions, and make a recommendation to the attending physician as to the appropriate placement or services needed for psychiatric care (i.e. inpatient or outpatient).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of PHI (Protected Health Information) in accordance with HIPAA and professional ethical standards set forth by the American Counseling Association and American Psychological Association National Association of Social Workers.
