Working in the department of Pediatric Neurology, the nurse will work with multiple providers to provide care to pediatric patients with neurologic conditions.
-Assures competent, compassionate, individualized, nursing care to patients. -Responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of their -Triage clinical questions by phone, directing patients to come in for an appointment based on their acuity, collaborate with a team of providers, and -Attends clinic at least 2 full days per week. 
-Collaborates with the clinical care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. --Ensures that care is safe, efficient, effective, timely and meets the cultural, spiritual, and ethnic needs of each patient and family.
-Encouraged to participate in relevant clinical and teaching conferences and research activities.

The Pediatric Nurse will have clinical support available at all times. All non-urgent questions can be directed to the patient’s primary Neurologist, while urgent questions can be answered by the Pediatric Neurologist on call—available either in person or by page.

Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.

Essential Functions
-Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
-Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
-Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
-Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
-Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
-Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.


 

Qualifications

Education
Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only required

Experience
Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
- Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
