Job Description

Van Andel Institute (VAI), a world-class biomedical research institute, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is dedicated to improving human health. Van Andel Institute’s Finance Department is currently seeking an Accounting Intern for up to a maximum of 15 hours per week.

This internship will offer an opportunity to learn about:

· Account reconciliations and documentation

· Journal Entries

· Monthly Reporting

· Tax reporting

· Invoicing

We would expect you to:

· Be enrolled full-time in a Finance or Accounting program at an accredited college or university; with the goal of working in a finance-related field

· Have previous experience working in office maintenance or office services environment

· Be detail oriented

· Be committed to providing excellent customer service

· Be excellent with oral and written communication

· Be proficient with computer office applications (i.e. Microsoft Office
