Role title: Registered Nurse (Year 1 - 8) - Recovery Unit

Role type:  Permanent full time

Department and location:  Peri-operative Services, St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst 

Salary: $72,152.53 - $101,299.48

About the role 

  • The Recovery Unit consists of patients after they have undergone anaesthesia and surgical procedures.

  • Responsible for maintaining patient safety, monitoring vital signs, managing pain, providing patient education, and providing comprehensive handover as well as appropriate documentation.

  • Recovery Nurses play a vital role in ensuring patients transition safely from surgery, with an emphasis on emotional support.

  • Supported by a Nurse Manager, Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educators, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and a great team working alongside you.

About you 

  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.

  • Demonstrated strong communication skills with the ability to provide high quality patient care under pressure.

  • Demonstrated experience in acute care setting such as operating theatres or other relevant area.

  • Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse.
