The role: 

Passionate about data, public service and making a real impact? Join the Office of Equity and Civil Rights (OECR) Data Team and help drive equity through data this summer! We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated intern to support OECR’s data team during the summer term. This paid internship offers valuable hands-on experience in data analysis and integrity, with opportunities to learn tools like SQL and Power BI.

This job posting is for temporary positions and does not include the typical benefits available for permanent employees. Temporary employees may be eligible for employee health benefits offered through the Public Employees Benefit Board (PEBB) as outlined in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

This is a part-time position. The posted salary/pay range for this announcement is based on full-time hours; the salary will be paid on an hourly basis

What you will learn:

  • Collaborate with OECR’s Data Manager to design and document a data review process.

  • Review form data in the CRCT database for completeness and accuracy.

  • Document and present review findings internally (and potentially externally).

  • Build a Power BI report to track and visualize data import errors.

Minimum qualifications:

  • We are accepting applications from college students in their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year.

  • An interest in the study of statistics, computer science, data science, or any major that involves training in quantitative data analysis.

  • Interest in data analysis and data integrity.

  • Experience with SQL, Microsoft Excel or other data tools,

  • Experience effectively communicating, verbal and written.
