The Social Work Intern is a full member of the healthcare team under the supervision of the Employee Support Counselor.  In partnership with the care team and ESC, the intern will be responsible for assessing, intervening, and providing support for the social and emotional needs of the patients and employees within his/her assigned unit(s) at Baptist Health Floyd.  While working under the oversight of the Employee Support Counselor, the social work intern will create positive and effective relationships with employees and patients, in order to help them reach their personal goals.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree

• Actively pursuing Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work.

• Maintains a working knowledge of relevant issues that have an impact on the healthcare environment.
